A&F Engineering has perfected their services in every project completed. We provide quality results and can be seen throughout Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio. We are proud to showcase our completed projects.
Private Developer – Impact Analysis
A&F Engineering performed a traffic impact analysis focusing on the traffic movement at Clay Terrace located at US 31 and Rangeline Road. The study examined projected turning lanes, sight distance and queue length. The scope of work was based on INDOT requirements.Fishers, Indiana – Impact Fee Study
A&F was contracted by the Town of Fishers to conduct an impact fee study that would determine the fees that could be assessed against future developments within the Town. The assessed fees are used to fund infrastructure improvements that are necessary to accommodate growth in Fishers, Indiana.
Hamilton County I-69/SR-238- Interchange Study
The Hamiltion County Highway Department engaged A&F Engineering to study the interchange at I-69 and State Road 238 while considering future traffic forecasts. Conditions were based on future development and changes in the local roadway network. Traffic volume counts and travel pattern data was collected. This data, along with the analysis, existing comprehensive plan data,
conclusions, and recommendations was documented in the resulting interchange study. The study indentified the present and future Level of Service (efficiency) of I-69 and SR 238 and affiliated intersections at peak hours.
Terre Haute, Indiana – Corridor Study
The City of Terre Haute hired A&F to conduct a comprehensive study for State Road 46. The scope of work ranged from peak hour traffic movement volume counts and intersections geometrics to a 20 year traffic projection utilizing the city’s comprehensive land use plan and roadway/intersection segment capacity analysis.
Conclusions and recommendations were made that outline roadway improvements necessary to accommodate existing and future traffic resulting from the development of vacant land within the study area.
Hamilton County – Transportation Infrastructure Needs Assessment
A&F Engineering conducted a major transportation study that analyzed the principal roadway systems within Hamilton County as well as State Road 37. An updated land map was produced and subsequently used to produce a transportation model and network for the major route within the County. Traffic engineers were able to develop a 20 year traffic projection and recommend future roadway requirements to accommodate future transportation needs.
Indianapolis, Indiana – Traffic Forecasting
We provided twenty-year traffic projections to the City of Indianapolis. Our Transportation Operations and Analysis Group calculated unique transportation growth factors for several sub-areas to determine reliable growth rates. This “user friendly” growth matrix made it possible to estimate future traffic volumes.Other projects include:
Road Design Back to top
Auburn, Indiana – Road Reconstruction and Intersection Improvements
This project consists of the re-design of an existing roadway and the addition of a new corridor through open agricultural ground. A scoping study was performed by A&F previous to the design. Turn lanes were required at several intersections in addition to curbs, gutters, and storm sewers. The total length of the project was 2.56 miles with slightly less than a mile being a replacement of an existing road and the remaining 1.64 miles being construction of a new road extending to SR 8. Auburn Drive is used as a southern bypass for trucks to the industrial area.
Carmel, Indiana – Road Reconstruction and StreetScape
The 116th StreetScape project between Keystone Avenue and Rangeline Road in Carmel included lane additions, new curb and gutter sections, pedestrian walkways and a new storm drainage system. Design also included new traffic signals and upscale lighting. The approximate length of this project is .62 miles. This project was designed and inspected by A&F Engineering using all INDOT standards.A&F Engineering won the Indiana Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies “Excellence in Engineering” Honor Award for this roadway design.
Greencastle, Indiana – Road Widening
This project included widening and rehabilitation of the pavement, new curb and gutter sections and new drainage system in a .42 mile section of South Jackson Street in Greencastle, Indiana. This project was designed and inspected by A&F using all INDOT standards.
The Indiana Department of Transportation – Interchange Realignment
A&F designed the exit ramp re-alignment project on I-74 and State Road 3 in Greensburg, Indiana. The project involved realigning the exit ramps and funneling traffic directly from I-74 to SR 3. The project also involved signals, signage, drainage, lighting, and construction traffic maintenance.
Kokomo, Indiana – Road and Intersection Redesign
One and a half miles of Alto Road, located in Kokomo, Indiana was widened from a two-lane facility to a four-lane and included redesign of a “Y” intersection. Major storm water sewer construction was also performed as well. A&F designed and inspected this LPA Project.
Carmel, Indiana – Road Reconstruction and Roundabout
In Carmel, Indiana a .75 mile, two lane portion of West 96th Street from Meridian was redesigned. The roadway, with ditch draining, was converted to a four lane roadway with storm sewers and included new turning lanes at Meridian. At 96th and Spring Mill Road, a conventional 4 way stop intersection was redesigned to a smoother flowing roundabout design.Other projects include:

Indianapolis, Indiana – Children’s Museum
A&F Engineering provided effective signals to the intersections surrounding the Children’s Museum in Indianapolis, Indiana. A&F targeted the young demographic with visually exciting signage and made sign information clear for motorists and pedestrians to view.
Carmel, Indiana – 116th Street
Outside metro cities the suburbs are experiencing tremendous growth rates. These growth rates have cities competing against each other to make their city the most appealing. Carmel, Indiana hired A&F Engineering to create a nostalgic environment with StreetScaping.
